Katie Klein Best-Selling Ebook Author
One independent ebook author that we here at the ebook store believe is on the way to becoming much better known is Katie Klein. We are confident that one day she will be at the top of the best-sellers list!
At the moment of writing she has written and published 3 ebooks and sales of her ebooks have risen steadily – from 67 for February 2011 to 2,320 for August 2011, with a peak in June at 3,423.
Her book Cross My Heart is a finalist for the 2011 Goodreads Readers Choice Awards for Best Young Adult Fiction!
She describes herself as “a diehard romantic with a penchant for protagonists who kick butt”. We have scoured the Internet thingy for pics of Katie Klein but so far have drawn a blank ! Another writer that lives in a garrett no doubt. Or it could be that Katie Klein is not her real name?
Why are sales of Katie Klein’s ebooks destined to rise ?
- She is writing more ebooks, and in publishing quantity matters
- She is becoming more well-known and
- She has just been highlighted in Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing newsletter !
Her 3 published ebooks so far are:-
The Guardian (Book #1 of “The Guardian” Trilogy)
- urban fantasy for young adults
Cross My Heart – one reviewer said “I absolutely positively fell in love with both this book and this amazing author, Katie Klein. I have to say …. it was impossible to put down. ….. Never ever, in the vast numbers of books I have read, have I ever found a book in which I actually enjoyed the family dialogue. ”
Vendetta (Book #2 of “The Guardian” Trilogy)
Katie Klein has an excellent blog – Katie Klein – on which she gives details of all her sales so far, which is very useful information for aspiring independent ebook authors. Here is the shortened summarized version.

- February 67
- March 235
- April 1,063
- May 2,702
- June 3,423
- July 3,346

Vendetta was released on August 6th – which should increase sales.
Katie Klein has already been published in print and is what is referred to as a “midlist author” i.e. neither a bestseller nor a “debut” author. She decided to go the indie route as an experiment. Her new paranormal romance book was getting rejections as the “market was too saturated” so they said.
But in the modern self-publishing world “they” no longer hold all the cards or pull all the strings. If “they” don’t watch out they might find themselves with a publishing house but with no writers, as more and more writers break free and start publishing on the KINDLE and the NOOK etc…
It is easy to publish and upload to Amazon and you don’t need anyone’s permission to do it! So, spurred on by the success of writers like J A Konrath and Amanda Hocking, Katie Klein changed her name (to Katie Klein – we don’t know what it was before) and “took the plunge”.
