Back on October 6, J A Konrath announced to the world that he was taking a  break from blogging, and he has been more or less true to his word. J A Konrath is a highly successful writer of mystery novels published in ebook format and has been one of the main apologists for self-publishing via ebooks for the Kindle and Nook and bane of the traditional publishing world.

But since announcing his self-imposed hiatus he hasn’t been idle. Au contraire he has finished his latest and final Jack Daniels novel which will be released for the Kindle on November 22. The novel is called Stirred – a Jack Daniels Mystery
and was co-written with author Blake Crouch. NB you don’t need a Kindle to read an ebook – there are Kindle apps that you download for free to your computer or phone.

Now, just a few weeks later it is no. 2 in the list of best-selling ebooks.

Since announcing his break from blogging JAK has published a number of posts on his blog from ‘guest bloggers’ (BTW any guest bloggers want to guest blog here then just leave a message in the comments – this blog is by no way as well frequented as J A Konrath’s but “hey, as long as I spell your name right!”) describing their own experiences with publishing and self-publishing one of which is David Gaughran - but there are plenty of others. If you are an aspiring author then reading how other people have fared is always useful.

Personally, it has inspired me to possibly think about writing a book if I could only come up with a plot and if I had some talent.
